JIM "JIMMIE" L. BROWN

 

OBITUARY: Jim L. (Jimmie) Brown age 65 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Lincoln. He was born February 19, 1945 in Lincoln to Forest B. Brown Sr. and E. Irene McCurdy Brown. He graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1963. Jim married Barbara S. Pennington on September 2, 1967. Jim earned his RN from the Lincoln General School of Nursing, and a JD from UNL College of Law. Jim was twice Past Master of College View Lodge 320, A.F. & A.M., 33 degree Mason, member York Rite, member Sesotris Shrine - Clown Unit, member KCCH, Scottish Rite. Jim has been very active in the church and is currently a member of New Covenant Community Church. Jim's career paths included Clinical Instructor for LGH School of Nursing; President, Nebraska Health Care Assn; nursing home admn; software writer for Nelson Data and Creative Thinking, Inc; Regional Manager for Mid-West Cornerstone Healthcare and Pharmacy. Jim served as a board member for the Nebraska Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation; Hemophilia of Iowa; Midwest Hemophilia Association of Missouri; Hemophilia Foundation of Minnesota/Dakotas, and secretary for the Hemophilia Federation of America. Hobbies included the Early Ford V8 Club; Camp Creek Threshers; Cushman engine collector and restorer.
VISITATION: No visitation.
SERVICE: The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the New Covenant Community Church, 6000 S. 84th Street, Lincoln.
FAMILY: Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Lincoln; daughters and son-in-law, Jenny Brown; Jill and Mitch Jones; Molly Eppenbach, all of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Jacob and Layne Eppenbach, Braeland and Gracen Jones; brother, Dick Brown of Littleton, CO; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Steve Pope of Lincoln, NE; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Donald Hulse of San Bernadino, CA; brother Forest B. "Bud" Brown, Jr. of Denver, CO.
CEMETERY: Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be directed to the Jim L. Brown Memorial Fund c/o Pinnacle Bank. The funds will be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Nebraska Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation and Hemophilia of Iowa.
