Robert Leslie Gillispie age 84 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, July 19, 2010 in Seward, Nebraska. He was born on February 14, 1926 in Nemaha, Nebraska to Samuel and Eva (Leslie) Gillispie. He served in the US Navy during World War II from March 8, 1943 to March 9, 1947. Robert married Hazel Fetterley on May 14, 1945. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction for area contractors. He was a member of the VFW Post 3606. |

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Wyuka Cemetery. |

Robert is survived by his wife, Hazel of Lincoln; daughters and spouses, Marjorie and Kent Watson of Lincoln; Maryann Taylor of Bradenton, Florida; Robin and Leonard Hill of Lincoln; Kathy and Joe Nannen of Sprague, Nebraska; sons and spouses, Terry and Marlyn Gillispie of Crete; John and Teresa Gillispie of Lincoln; Robert and Jolynn Gillispie of Lincoln; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Howard of Auburn, Nebraska; brother and spouse, Milo and Linda Sapp of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law, Jackie Sapp of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, George Sapp; brothers, Sam Gillispie, Oliver and Joseph Sapp; brother-in-law, Delbert Howard; granddaughter, Tonya Marie Kermmoade; great-grandson, Tony Watson. |

Burial with military honors will be in Wyuka Cemetery. |
