Ann Monroe Lampert, 76, of Annandale, Virginia, died March 29, 2024. She was born September 14, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Lauren David and Sidney Ann Lampert.
A graduate of American University, Ann — who also went by “Shawne” — worked in private industry, as an independent contractor to NATO, and later for the MITRE Corporation, from which she retired.
Beyond her professional life, Ann was an indefatigable champion for Golden Retrievers. She dedicated countless hours to GRREAT, Inc., a non-profit volunteer organization committed to the rescue, foster care, and placement of Golden Retrievers. Her leadership and service on the board left a lasting impact on the organization and the many dogs and families whose lives were changed by its work.
She is survived by her brother, Peter Lampert, her nieces Natalie and Katrina Lampert, her nephew Ben Lampert, and her cousins Laurie Reeves and Matt Spence.
Burial took place at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.
