Patrick “Kevin” Conover

Patrick “Kevin” Conover, 70, of Lincoln, NE passed away on November 26, 2025. He was born August 3, 1955, to Almon and Nancy Conover.

Kevin grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was proud to be a Havelock native. He found joy in riding motorcycles—especially his Harley—and loved camping, woodworking, and tackling any project that needed fixing or remodeling. A true homebody at heart, he spent many years restoring the farmhouse where he lived for 21 years.

Kevin had a deep passion for helping others. As a long-time member of Narcotics Anonymous, he dedicated more than 30 years to supporting people in their recovery journeys. He cherished time spent with friends, whether sharing a good cup of coffee or enjoying a meal together.

A skilled marksman, Kevin looked forward each year to competing in the Lincoln Trap and Skeet League. Shooting with his longtime team brought him great pride, and together they earned several Division III championship titles.

Kevin worked for Constructors Inc. in Lincoln for 29 years, retiring on December 1, 2021. He also served his country with pride as a member of the United States Army from 1980 to 1983.

Above all, Kevin loved being with his wife Lori, his dog-Blue, family, friends, and especially his grandchildren, whose events he rarely missed. His kindness, generosity, and steady thoughtfulness touched the lives of many.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Lori; dog, Blue Boy Conover; stepson, Mike (Heather) Heatherly; stepdaughter, Terra (Jim) Peters; grandchildren, Taylor, Ivan, Maddison, Lillian, and Emrys; brother, Michael (Linda) Conover; sister, Shannon (Wayne) Inouye; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11 AM, at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be donated to the family for future designation.

  1. Kevin was my cousin, I’ve been so very proud of Kevin to stay the course with his changes from 30 years ago. I’ve always had fun with Kevin when we were together and we’ve always tried to help each other in times of need. I loved Kevin as I would have loved my own brother. He was a good human being and treated people with the same respect they treated him. I will truly miss him! RIP brother!

  8. Kevin was my baby brother and one of the most thoughtful, loyal, kind, generous, talented, loving, supportive, protective men you could ever know. He had a great sense of humor, a sweet smile, sparkling eyes, and gentle spirit. He connected easily with people, genuinely wanting to help others; and built strong bonds with a lot of friends, as evidenced by the the wide variety people who came to visit while he was in the hospital. He made friends through NA, his career, motorcycling, skeet-shooting, and many more. Kevin and his amazing wife Lori had a “magic” relationship, with love that was obvious, and she was by his side every minute through this awful last chapter of his life. I can’t begin to thank her for giving Kevin so much love, joy and support. I wish they had been able to have more years together.

My baby brother will be missed greatly by his friends and family, yet I am comforted that he is no longer in pain. Rest in peace Kevvy.

  12. Kevin was my Uncle and I am saddened when I think that we will no longer hear that roaring laughter of his outside of memories. He was a man to set the bar higher for himself. I am relieved to know that he was surrounded by loved ones during the final moments of his life. Love and light to you and all those you care about.

  16. I am heartbroken to say goodbye to my dear friend, Kevin. Kevin was a truly rare soul whose light and warmth touched my life and everyone he encountered.
He was great about lifting up others. He never met a stranger and made sure the girls and myself, and everyone else who came into his orbit, felt instantly welcomed, valued, and included.
Above all, I know how much Kevin loved and cherished Lori. His deep love for her was the clearest expression of his generous heart. Thank you, Lori, for sharing him with all of us.
I will deeply miss his booming laugh, his encouraging spirit, and the community he built simply by being himself.
    Ride free, my friend.

  23. I knew Kevin since 7th grade. We all hung out and may have gotten into trouble a bit. He was even a kind man in his teen years. I just found out about him Thurs night, the 17th. So glad an obit was put on the bulletin board at the Mtng Place. He always had the greatest smile. I ran into him at the Spring Fling many years ago. I was so excited that he was in recovery, too. He will surely be greatly missed by all.
