David H. Jones Jr., 79, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Lincoln, NE. He was born December 16, 1946, in Lincoln, NE to David H. Jones Sr. and Nora K. (Van Buskirk) Jones.
He cherished time spent with his family and took great joy in attending the activities and events of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with and collecting model trains and cheering on Nebraska football.
One of his greatest sources of pride was his family, and he deeply valued his roles as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also proud of his service in the United States Army and the National Guard.
He enjoyed traveling, especially vacationing in Colorado, and spending time pursuing his hobby of model trains.
David is survived by his wife, Aloris Jones; daughter, Tonya (William) Remaklus; son, John (Richelle) Jones; grandchildren, Erin Remaklus, Joseph (Nicole) Remaklus, Logan Remaklus, Nikolai Remaklus, Alyssa Jones, and Connor Jones; great-grandchildren, Olivia Remaklus, Hudson Remaklus, Lillian Remaklus-Drummond, and Adam Topil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David H. Sr. and Nora Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Ida and Warren Sunderland; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Virgie Thompson; and great-grandson, Beckett Remaklus.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5–8 PM at Wyuka Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1 PM at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln, NE 68510. Interment with military honors to follow at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.
