Robert Kim Woodward
April 11, 1946 – July 3, 2026
Robert Kim Woodward died late in the evening of July 3, 2026, at his home in Grass Valley, CA, following an illness, he was 80 years old.
Kim was born in April of 1946 in Oklahoma to Grant and Mary Kathryn Roberts Woodward. In the early 60s, his family moved to Lincoln, NE, where he attended Lincoln Southeast High School (class of 1964) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Later in life, he earned an MBA from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA.
Kim and Chris were married in 1971 and began their lives together. Kim found his career path in healthcare. He became a respiratory therapist in the 70s, working in hospitals in San Jose, CA, Lincoln General in Lincoln, NE, and the Oakland (CA) Children’s Hospital, retiring after ten years as Administrative Director of the Stanford Sleep Medicine Center in Redwood City, CA.
Mr. Rogers said: “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
Kim was a helper. He was a volunteer at heart.
After retiring in 2010, Kim volunteered with International Bird Rescue in Fairfield, CA, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Grass Valley Police Department, and CALFIRE (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection), where he spent several fire seasons manning the look-out tower at Wolf Mountain in Grass Valley.
Kim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Christine Prusia Woodward; his sister, Kay Knocke, and brother-in-law, Wayne Knocke, of Phoenix; nephews Scott Lindsay (Stacey) of Harrison, ID, and Grant Lindsay (Solitaire) of Phoenix; brother-in-law Kevin Prusia and sister-in-law Amber Manceaux Prusia of Eagle, NE; three grand nephews and two grandnieces; and cousins Beth Armes of Lubbock, TX, and Sue Stewart of Dallas. He is predeceased by his parents, his father-in-law Elmer Prusia and mother-in-law Florence Torbeck Prusia, his sister-in-law Lynn Prusia, and his cousin, Ann Kendricks.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 am on Thursday, July 23, in the Rudge Chapel at Wyuka (3600 O Street, Lincoln), with graveside services immediately following.
