Robert “Bob” Schleuger

Robert “Bob” Pete Schleuger, 88, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on August 20, 1937, in Salina, Kansas, to Jacob and Clara (Fox) Schleuger.

Bob will be remembered as a quiet, kind, and hardworking man with a wonderful sense of humor and a remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Naturally resourceful, he could often find a way to repair or solve a problem using whatever he had on hand. His practical nature, ingenuity, and willingness to lend a hand were qualities that those who knew him appreciated deeply.

A hard worker throughout his life, Bob took pride in doing things well and caring for what was entrusted to him. He enjoyed keeping a clean and tidy home and took great pride in maintaining the things around him. His kindness was reflected not only in what he did, but in the quiet and thoughtful way he treated others.

Bob was also a devoted sports fan, with a particular love for Nebraska football and hockey. His passion for hockey extended beyond watching the game—he played ice hockey himself and enjoyed the sport throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his sister, Laura Schleuger; his son, Todd Schleuger; and his nephew, Jeffrey Pepin and his wife, Suzette Clarke.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack Schleuger; and his grandson, Brody Schleuger.

Bob’s quiet nature, quick wit, resourcefulness, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His life was marked by hard work, simple pleasures, and the many quiet ways he showed that he cared.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68510. Interment will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.
