Betty Godwin, 88, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on June 29, 2025, in Burleson, Texas. She was born on August 8, 1936, in Tularosa, New Mexico, to Jack and Gladys Robinson.
Betty was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her kind heart, her warm spirit, and her love of quilting. She was an avid quilter who poured creativity and care into every stitch. A longtime member of Calvary Community Church in Lincoln, she faithfully served as a volunteer there and also gave her time generously to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Tony) Overdirth of Fort Worth, TX; Karen (John) Hernandez of Fort Worth, TX; and Kathy (Keith) Stetson of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by her sisters, Julie (Jim) Duncan and Barbara (Franklin) King; numerus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ben Sales and Roy Godwin; brothers, Archie Robinson and Leo Robinson; and several grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Calvary Community Church, 4400 N 1st Street, Lincoln. A viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
