Dan was always welcomed in our home. He and Pat enjoyed each other’s company. They had tried some weird lime flavored beer. And only drank three of the four pack. It nicely flavored the pork roast. He was a big KC fan and would tease Pat about the Broncos.

Dan was more than a good friend. We met many years ago when our sons were in Y-Guides. We immediately bonded through our faith, love for fishing, hunting and other activities. For many years now we have been meeting biweekly for breakfast. I am going to miss getting that phone call from Dan reminding me that it was my week to buy.

I am greatly saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. He was a great guy.
As children, our families attended Douglas Avenue Presbyterian Church together in Des Moines. Our parents and that church provided a firm faith foundation for us.
He and I used to hang out in Lincoln while we were in college there.
Condolences and best wishes to his family.
