He was a great guy! The last time I had the pleasure of visiting with him he stopped me on a dark highway south of Oshkosh because I had a headlight out after hitting a dear. I was so pleasantly surprised to see it was your dad. We had a nice conversation before I headed home. He was always a gentleman.

When I was younger he was my next door neighbor and I ended up getting into some trouble and he was one of the first people to help me go down a different path, I looked up to him so much and had tremendous amount of respect for that man! He was a tremendous asset to the department and a great investigator plus a good friend to me and someone I looked forward to working with. I called him on his birthday and he was so excited to be near his girls and grandkids. He told me now he wouldn’t miss any event that his grandson in Lincoln was involved in. I send my sympathy to you all.
