Sandi,
I’m sorry I didn’t make it to Katie’s funeral this morning. She was a very special lady when I was working at Hollywood Bowl in my early years. One of my special memories about her and her family was a Cornhusker State Games Volkswalk. One of her grandkids was doing the event with me and we ended up running the entire way. I haven’t had much interaction with her lately but I will definitely miss her!

We were your former neighbors on Glade Street. Your mom and dad were two of the loveliest people we have ever known. They were exactly what perfect neighbors should be. John enjoyed helping your dad with yard and roofing issues, and Katie was such a sweetheart. Our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy go out to you at this difficult time. I knew Katie through her volunteer work with the Lincoln Municipal Band. She was always such a bright and cheerful light each time I saw her! Katie, Donna, and Alma were a fun dream team of volunteers, making us all smile and laugh – and accomplishing a ton while they did it. Thinking of Katie’s family and friends at this difficult time.
