Wyuka Historical Foundation’s “Littlest Angels Project”.
There are over 2850 babies and young children buried before 1920. We have recently added other children through 1972. They have no markers of any kind. Just a stamped number. We are buying gravestones for each to be placed with the name of the child.
Reason cleanup is necessary. It is for the Safety of visitors and mowing crew during the mowing season.
All the flowers that are placed on the graves of loved ones must be removed the following week after Interments, Memorial Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, except for the flowers that fit in the permanent vases fastened to the Headstones. We put as many flowers in the permanent vases as they can hold.
The pickup volunteers are trained in what needs to be picked up and what can stay. We would love to have you volunteer to help us pick up flowers after Memorial Day and then again help clean them in the spring for the annual sale.
