I am sorry to learn of your loss of Peggy. She was a teacher and a giver. I remember the years we taught CPR classes together with the Medical Auxiliary. Bless you all in your grief.

I jogged by Fletcher Prairie on Saturday morning with my daughter and thought, “what a beautiful old barn! I wonder if that is Dr. Fletcher’s place!” Dr. Fletcher was my pediatrician, and I’m so grateful to know he and his wife are leaving a legacy of love for children and nature in our community. As a teaching naturalist at Pioneers Park, I think Peggy and I would have been kindred spirits! I hope to be a fun, hardworking, naturalist grandma someday too. Blessings on your family, Dr. Fletcher. Peggy, rest in peace!

Peg and Larry joined us as charter board members of Great Plains Trails Network. Together, they were instrumental in gaining support of the MoPac East Trail and the Oak Creek Trail. Peg understood the value of natural spaces and appreciated the value of trail corridors, especially for children. The Fletchers were also part of a small group of individuals who co-signed a loan to purchase the land for the MoPac East Trail, then worked with others to raise the money to pay of the loan and build the trail. Their devotion to trails, prairie, and nature is a legacy that we all enjoy and will continue to for many years in the future. Peg’s work will never be forgotten and will serve as an inspiration to others.

Peg was an inspiration in so many ways. My son loved his Prairie Song experience. What a gift she was to so many.

Peg was such a beautiful and inviting person. Our daughter, Chloe, loved attending Prairie Song during her preschool years. Our whole family enjoyed learning from Miss Peg and experiencing many outdoor activities with her.

Both of my now grown sons did a year of preschool at Prairie Song and loved Miss Peg! We were new to Lincoln at the time and so thankful that we found her and her lovely school – for those two years it was a blessing to us. Condolences in your loss. Peg was a wonderful person. She and Larry were great stewards of the land and they both influenced so many young people over the years and they shared Fletcher Prairie with so many people. Peg gave the gift of nature appreciation to so many of her students and friends. My deepest sympathies to Larry and the girls and their families.
