Andrea M. Kabourek

Andrea had fought the brave battle against cancer and served as inspiration to many with her “I CAN. I WILL!” mantra. She was a teacher and running coach at Lincoln East High School. Memorial arrangements are being made to a cross country scholarship at Lincoln East and the Lincoln Children’s Zoo in which details will given later.

A Celebration of Life for Andrea will be held on September 27 at 1 p.m. at Snyder Arena on the Nebraska Wesleyan University Campus. Doors will open at noon. Family and friends request casual dress (no black).

  1. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. My heart goes out to the family. Death is something we will never get use to. In fact, God’s Word refers to death as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) It is comforting to know that very soon our loving Heavenly Father will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on the earth.

  2. What a beautiful, strong and brave lady she was?
We all admired and loved her! May you be at peace
Brian. Love and prayers to you, Kim Witherby

  3. Praying for you, coach! May God give you peace during this difficult time.

  4. Ken and Estelle,
We can’t imagine how much you will miss Andrea. She sounds like a wonderful person. I am so glad that you have so many special memories of some very special adventures. I hope that those memories comfort you, and can help you through. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Ron and Kathy Riley

  5. We wish to express our sympathy for your loss of Andrea. She was a wonderful lady, who will be missed by many. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Brian.

  6. Alumni here with connection to memories of Brian kabourek. Sorry to family and current students and staff. I’ve been out of east high school 16 years ago but honestly still care about wonderful staff at that place. Struggled through high school but with time I see good out of struggle. Can’t imagine Andrea Kaboureks class let alone to have Brian on campus in the midst of loss. Know you are in my thoughts east high and likely other people my age and even older have similar such thoughts. Prayers if I think of it.

  7. I had the honor and privilege of meeting Andrea in June and she will always be an inspiration. My condolences to the family.
