Arlene Mae Imlay (Campbell)

Arlene Mae Imlay (Campbell) our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2012.  She was born on July 7, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harold and Marie Campbell.  Arlene was born and raised Seventh-Day-Adventist and graduated from Maplewood Academy.  She came to Lincoln when she was 20 years old and started working for Elgin Watch Company. She then worked at Easthills Supper Club, Eddies Supper Club, Knolls Country Club and Lee’s Restaurant.

Arlene is survived by her daughters, Diane and Mike Teale of Douglas, Nebraska; Julie and Jim Haught of Lincoln; Linda Johnson of Lincoln; son, Michael Imlay of Lincoln; She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Janet Wissmiller, son, Dale Imlay and “Bud” Imlay.

There will be no public visitation.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Piedmont Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 4801 A Street with Pastor Allen Myers officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

  1. Arlene and I worked together at East Hills in the late 70’s. I enjoyed her up-beat personality very much. May she rest in peace.

      Thank you for your kind words, mom was such a fun outgoing person, I worked with her at East hills and the Elks lodge, she loved the people she worked with and she was such a people person had a way of making everyone feel special. Sorry this comes late I hope you get this. Just having a hard time believing she is gone. But so grateful for all the kind words , thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much Linda

  5. I knew Dale and the Imlays when I was small. My dad, Kenny, and Dale were good friends. I’m very sorry for your loss and wish you peace in this time. I never met Arlene but I am sure she is an exceptional woman to have raised the family that she did. I’ll keep you in my thoughts.

      Thank you for your kind thoughts, mom was amazing and she is missed beyond words. Seems we all are missing so many special people, Dale and Kenny, they were great friends, so we hold each one close in our hearts and remember all the good memories.
