Bernice J. Peterson, 90, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Lincoln.  She was born March 6, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Chris W. and Ardella M. (Matter) Jacobson.

Bernice grew up in Omaha, spending her childhood with her parents among a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, who celebrated every holiday together.  She married Robert Peterson on March 28, 1951.  They spent their married life together in Omaha until their retirement, when they moved to Lincoln to be closer to their family.  In her working years, she was an office assistant at the Omaha Home for Boys.

Bernice is survived by daughter Sue (Terry) Uland of Lincoln, Brother Larry (Connie) Jacobsen of Omaha, grandchildren Ellen (Jim) Reilly and John Uland of Lincoln, and 2 great grandchildren, Margot and Charlie Reilly, and niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert.

Memorial service Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln.
