Constance “Connie” Ruth Gormley

Constance “Connie” Ruth Gormley, 74, of Lincoln passed away April 30, 2024. She was born August 26, 1949, in Columbus, NE to Wilfred and Patricia Jahn.

Connie graduated from Wayne State College with a bachelor’s degree and was a teacher in Columbus, NE and later moved to Lincoln to do secretarial/administrative work and conference and event planning.

Connie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ron Gormley; daughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Zierott; grandchildren, Oscar Zierott, and Charles Zierott; siblings, Steve (Joan) Jahn, Michael (Christine) Jahn; aunt, Rose Pratt; brother-in-law, Dennis (Pat) Gormley; and many nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her uncle, Marv Jahn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Wyuka Funeral Home, Lincoln. Inurnment to follow at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future charitable donations.

  6. Such wonderful memories of our days of working together at Williams Group.. Our dinners after work were filled with love and laughter..She will be missed by many. May you find comfort in God’s healing hands surrounded by friends and family sharing loving memories.

  7. Jennie and family, Sorry for your loss and condolences! Cousin Connie was special to our family. When she was visiting, everyone was laughing especially my Dad, Clinton. She was mine and Janet’s baby sitter for years. God bless your family and Rest in Peace Connie. Donny Gates and family.

  11. I loved her like a second mother. I know she loved me so much. But we lost touch for a few years. I wish I could go back and be more present. I got to say goodbye to her and when I whispered in her ear I love you I know she heard me.

  13. Remembering Connie is very pleasant. She was a lovely vibrant woman, very nice and especially sweet to me when we came to visit the family in Nebraska. She made me feel so welcomed and at home. She will definitely be missed! My prayers and condolences to the family.

  14. Connie was one-of-a-kind and loved by all who knew her. My time at Williams Group was enhanced tremendously by her calm, wise, soft, caring personality she shared with everyone. She was a shoulder to cry on, daily encouragement, a second “mom” at the office, sharp wit, and a capable career woman to look up to. She has been missed ever since my time there and there is now an ache in my heart for all those grieving her loss. Prayers for each one.
