Dana L. Bodtke

October 18, 1967 – May 5, 2022

Dana Lynn (Colgrove) Bodtke was born on 10/18/1967 in Bristol, CT to Loren Walter and Linda Colgrove. At age 4 she was adopted by her step-father Dale Colgrove of Dewitt NE. Dana grew up in Dewitt with her parents Dale and Linda, and brother’s Brent, Dirk and Jake Colgrove.

Dana attended Tri-county high school and upon graduation in 1986 attended Southeast Community College- Beatrice Campus. There she earned an Associate’s Degree in Medical Transcription. Her first job was with Bryan Medical Center as a medical transcriptionist for Doctors in Radiology and Cardiology. She later applied those skills to Bryan Home Health Services until retiring due to health issues.

Dana went to be with our Lord Jesus on Thursday May 5, 2022.  She is survived by her husband, Greg Bodtke of Lincoln, NE; parents, Dale and Linda Colgrove of Dewitt, NE; brother, Brent Colgrove (Faith) of Beatrice, NE; brother, Dirk Colgrove (Yvonne) of Desoto, KS.; brother, Jacob Colgrove (Jessica) of Beatrice, NE; father in law, Marvin Bodtke of Lincoln, NE; sister in Law, Deb Bodtke of Lincoln.

In addition, Dana Loved ALL of her Nieces and Nephews, great nieces and nephews! Children were a source of tremendous joy in her life. Dana is preceded in death by grandparents and several friends.

Dana was an amazing lady with an incredible love for people and for the Lord Jesus Christ. She professed her faith to everyone she met and openly invited others to follow.

Dana will always be remembered for her kind, loving, spirit and bigger than life smiles. Her laughter was identifiable above all others, and then of course there were the mandatory Hugs! She was an incredible wife, daughter, sister, fiend, and let’s not forget the world’s BEST dog mom.

She will be missed beyond belief and impossible to replace.

Heavens gain is so incredibly our loss.

Go in peace lovely lady, brighten Heaven with the light that you are, you will never be forgotten. . .

  11. Dana was a wonderful friend and full of Life. She loved to help me and others whenever she could, which was a lot. Dana was filled with so much joy and could make me laugh even when she couldn’t laugh herself. I will remember the many times we went out for lunch. Some of those times we would both order and eat the same thing. We would laugh at that. Dana gave great encouragement to me and I’m sure to many others. She had many friends and gave her heart away easily. Dana and I would share our hearts, our pains, our struggles and the happy times in our lives. We had lots of fun together. Like all relationships we had struggles too. Some of those struggles we were able to work through and others we had to let go of. Dana and I would see each other at least twice a week. We took time to study the Bible together and we challenged each other to read God’s word every day. I watched Dana grow in her Love and knowledge of the LORD and she fell deeper and deeper in Love everyday. I will not forget you Dana. Lynn. Now, you will have met with our Jesus and so many others who have gone on before you. I love you and will see you when it’s my time, until then I will miss you.

  29. In memory of my friend, Dana:

Dana, I missed you the first Wednesday morning when bowling had ended. Now my heart aches that I will not see your great smile, hear your laughter share your happiness, and cheer for you when you got a strike. You did share your strong faith with me which gives me great comfort and happiness. You also shared your deep and continuously growing love for your husband and how happy he made you. Our friendship was cut short but your love, kindness, humor, etc. will stay in my heart. You are a blessing in my life and in so many other lives. Miss you, Girl !
