Donald A. Slama

Donald Anton Slama, 87, of Lincoln, passed away December 23, 2018.  He was born June 20, 1931, to John and Marie Slama on the family farm near Bee, NE.

Donald graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1948.  After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he subsequently went to sea aboard the USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War. After returning stateside he met and married Constance Redding of Gettysburg, PA on December 29, 1952.  They were married for 56 years, before her passing in 2009.

He is survived by: son John (Deena) Slama and grandchildren Robert Slama, Ann (Brian) Bulik, Kathryn Slama; daughter Tina Slama; son Roger Slama; sister Irene (George) Hill; sister-in-law Mary Slama.

Funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church / Lincoln followed by inurnment and honor guard at Calvary Cemetery / Lincoln.   In lieu of flowers consider memorial donations to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or other worthy veterans organizations.
