Dr. Mark Edward Duffy, 59, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on March 24, 2026. He was born on July 20, 1966, in Palo Alto, California, to William and Marie Duffy.
Mark Duffy was a man of quiet passion and thoughtful expression, whose love for writing reflected the depth of his character and intellect. He found joy in putting words to page, sharing ideas, stories, and reflections that resonated with those around him. Mark recently achieved a significant milestone, earning his Doctorate in Business Management—a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and commitment to lifelong learning. His accomplishments were matched by his humility, and he inspired others through both his work and his presence. Mark will be remembered for his sharp mind, creative spirit, and the lasting impression he left on everyone who knew him.
Mark is survived by his wife of 9 years, Jennifer Duffy; mother, Marie Duffy; step-sons, Aaron Gilo, Gavin (Veronica) Gilo, and Travis (Jordyn) Gilo; brother, Michael Duffy; four grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Duffy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Wyuka Funeral Home, with interment and military honors to follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.
Mark’s wishes were for everyone to wear bright colors, and specifically no black, except for shoes and socks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a future charitable donation.
