Esther A. Zanderholm

ZanderholmEsther A. Zanderholm, age 66 of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2014 with her family by her side.  She was born February 28, 1948 in Sutherland, Nebraska to Modesto and Angelina (Serria) Perez.  Esther was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Zanderholm; her children, Melissa Thompson, Mikal Thompson and his significant other, Lindsey Kurtzer  all of Lincoln.  Grandchildren: Zachary, Kelynn, Caden, Araina, Aislynn, Mikal, Damarion, Malicia and Amya.  Great granddaughter, Emma.  Brothers and sisters-in-law: Cruz and Hermana Vargas, Joe and Rosie Vargas, Ray and Darlene Vargas.  Sisters and brothers-in-law: Jennie and Manuel Cuellar, Tomasita and Donald Reyes, Benita Del Toro.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her daughter, Angie Perez Thompson, her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services will be held at Noon on Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church.  Graveside services will be at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, March 24th at Wyuka Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather inside the “O” Street gate.  Visitation will be at Wyuka Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23rd from Noon until 8:00 P.M.  The family will be at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. to greet friends.

  2. I will miss you so much Ester or as I called you “Mama”. I will miss how much your face would light up whenever your children or Grandbabies would come to see you. I will miss the hugs you always gave me whenever I came over and how throughout the years you made me feel loved and like a part of your family …. In short I will Just Miss You!! May you and your daughter Angie take care of each in Heaven and watch down on the rest of us!

  4. Esther…you’ve been my friend for many years. Even though we didn’t see each other daily now we remained friends and friends of the heart. I was truly blessed with you in my life and we’ll remain friends FOREVER. Be at rest now dear one. I believe we will meet again and I look forward to that time. Celebrate with Angie till then. I love you dear friend…
