In Loving Memory of Fedor S. Petrov

March 22, 1940 – May 4, 2024

Fedor S. Petrov, devoted husband to Larisa Solkan, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Moldova on March 22, 1940, Fedor was one of 6 children in the family of Stephan and Nina (Oselskaya) Petrov. Fedor served in the army from 1959 to 1962. He was baptized on August 15, 1964. Fedor pursued a profession as an electro-gas welder, and remained in that career for 40 years.

In 1964, Fedor married the love of his life, Larisa Solkan. Together they were blessed with four children: Vitaly (deceased), Liya, Remus, and Ala. Fedor and Larisa have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Fedor and Larisa moved to the United States in 1999, where they settled in Lincoln, Nebraska, and resided there for the past 24 years.

Fedor’s faith in the Lord was unwavering, evident in his commitment to serving his family and his church. Fedor spent his last years joyfully tending to his garden, fishing with his wife, and worshipping at First Slavic Baptist Church every Sunday.

Fedor’s legacy is not just in the memories he leaves behind, but in the values he instilled—faithfulness, humility, and a tireless work ethic. Fedor lived a life of example that will dwell in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at First Slavic Baptist Church, 3801 La Salle St, Lincoln, preceded by visitation at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.
