Frank Ayres

Frank Ayres, age 81, of Lincoln, died November 24, 2013.  He was born June 17, 1932 in Murray, Nebraska to Emery and Mae (Hicks) Ayres.  Frank served in the Korean War, 1952-1954, then went to work at Nebraska Prestress which later became Inland Concrete.  He retired after 31 years of hard work.  Frank enjoyed working on small engine equipment out of his garage.  He also loved to fish in Alaska with life long friend and brother-in-law, friends and family in Nebraska City.

Survivors include best friend and companion of 29 years, Janice Gillaspy and granddaughter Kay-lee Buckley both of Lincoln.  Daughter, Jodi Ayres of Lincoln; Brother and sister-in-law, Everette and Cheryl Ayres of Washington; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Jim, Dorothy and John.  3 Grandchildren, Zack Ayres, Lilli Joe Ayres and Donna May Ayres all of Washington.  Many grandchildren, step children of Oklahoma and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Ayres, brother George Ayres, 2 sisters Pat Ayres and Ema Jean Ayres.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 29th at Wyuka Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be at Wyuka Funeral Home beginning at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, November 29th.  Interment with military honors will be at Wyuka Cemetery.

  2. Papa Frank you will be missed by many. It was great meeting you with Jerry. Now you can keep him in line up there for us. You will be forever missed. Prayers go out to the family! Love always Brandi, Mikki, Justin, & Tina
