Geraldine G. (Tubman) Doe

April 22, 1928 – August 21, 2021

Geraldine G. (Tubman) Doe, Lincoln, 93, died August 21. Born April 22, 1928 to John Harvey and Hannah (Anderson) Tubman, in Lincoln. Geraldine graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Arts in English and worked as a secretary for the Strategic Air Command at the Lincoln Air Base and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service before her marriage to Kenneth L. Doe in 1957. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church (formerly Warren United Methodist) and served for many years on the  Bryan Hospital Board.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Katherine Nelsen, Raymond, NE and special friend Prim Battle, Lincoln; Susan Cromer, Lincoln; Annette and Jeff Schmuhl, Ludington, MI; Paula Doe and Steven Ramold, Ypsilanti, MI; grandchildren and spouses Allison and David Graham, Michelle and Jared Burham, Aaron Nelsen, Leighanne Nelsen, Daniel Cromer and fiancée Sarah Bush, Megan and Pedro Ramirez, Annette Cromer, Matthew Cromer, Hannah Schmuhl, Kendra Schmuhl; great grandchildren Theresa Graham; Nyoko, Solanna, and Manolo Ramirez; Tymothy, Gregory, and Theodore Norris; Gavin Tominski. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Elaine, and brother Harold.

Celebration of Life, 10:30 am Saturday, August 28 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1205 N 45th St, Lincoln.  Visitation, 6 – 8 pm Friday, August 27 at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O St, Lincoln. Memorials to New Hope United Methodist Church.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Gerry, as my siblings and I knew her, was always a quiet and gentle presence in our home whenever she and my Uncle Kenny came to Michigan for a visit.
