Jerald L. Buss

Jerald L. Buss, 76, of Lincoln, passed away on April 8, 2024, while doing what he loved, working on the family farm. He was born March 14, 1948, in Beatrice, NE to Ralph and Donna (Walker) Buss.

Jerry loved his family and fishing with his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of Husker volleyball, NASCAR races, and Jeopardy. He was happiest on whatever tractor, gator, or riding lawnmower was available. Jerry attended Beatrice High School and the University of Nebraska, followed by a 50-year career as a CPA.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, April (Justin) Douglas, and Crystal (Fiancé AJ Jeffery) Ridder, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Alexandra, Jacquelyn, Joseph, Jaelee (James), Jack, and Jason; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, McKenzie, and Matthew; brothers, Frank (Lynn) Buss of Gretna, Mark (Tonia) Buss of Beatrice; sister, Sue Sallinger of Lincoln; aunt Bertha Buss of Beatrice; sisters-in-law Jody Brott, of Lincoln; Julie (Mark) Walters, of Waterloo, IA; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 53 years, Judy Buss; and brother-in-law, Don Sallinger.

Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln. Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Second Baptist Church, 525 N 58th St, Lincoln. Interment at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.

  1. April and Crystal and families, We send our sympathy to you and our prayers for comfort from our loving Father in Heaven. Sorry this is coming so late but just found out about your dad’s passing and did not know that your mother had died as well. They were both very special to us and were such a big help and encouragement for us while we served at camp. Yes, your dad loved being on the mower or tractor out on the trails at camp. We have sent a memorial gift to MMCCC for both your mom and your dad.
