Joan L. Waples, age 80, of Lincoln, passed away December 31, 2013. She was born February 18, 1933 in Western, Nebraska to Herman and Selma (Moellenbrandt) Timm.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy and Myron Jensen of Lincoln; Vicki and John Michael Bauer of Springfield, Illinois. Son and daughter-in-law: Steven and Cheryl Waples of Lincoln. Grandchildren: Sarah Robinson, Matt Jensen, Stacy Driver, Sean Jensen, Michelle Waples and Melissa Waples. Numerous great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband: Ivan L. Waples, Jr., daughter: Janet Lee Waples and her parents.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Bethany Christian Church, 1645 N. Cotner, Lincoln. Visitation will be on Friday, January 3rd from 4:30-6:30 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Wyuka Cemetery.

I am very sorry to hear about Jo’s passing. She was my mentor in Weight Watchers and I loved her dearly. She always had a smile. She will be greatly missed.
I worked with Jo @ W.W. for 18 years. She was a dear friend, fun receptionist at meetings, willing participant in our silly ‘costume or skit days’ close confidant and upbeat lunch partner. She liked everyone and was liked back. I’m happy she and ‘Bud’ are together again. I can still hear her infectious laugh!
