LaVerna R. “Vernie” Donahoo

LaVerna R. “Vernie” Donahoo, age 71, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 surrounded by her family.  LaVerna, loving wife of Charles (married 51 years), was born April 23, 1942 in Lincoln to Joseph Sr. and Mary (Morris) Sharpnack.  Vernie was an avid fan of Husker football, loved fishing, camping and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  (She was, as well, and honorary Mother and Grandmother of more people than can be counted).  She was a member of the Methodist church, Food Net volunteer of numerous years. She was retired from Vernie’s Child Care where she was a loving daycare provider.

Survivors include: Sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Amy Donahoo, Steve and Melissa Donahoo all of Lincoln.  Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Lee and Mary Sharpnack of Waverly, Joseph and Priscilla Sharpnack of Greenwood.  Brothers-in-law and Spouses: Gary and Sue Donahoo, Kevin and Barbara Donahoo all of Lincoln.  Mark and Shannon Donahoo of Glendale, Arizona, Gaylen and Traci Donahoo, Elwin “Irish” Donahoo all of Lincoln.  Sister-in-law and Spouse: Carolyn “Susie” and Jimmy Watson of Lincoln.  8 Grandchildren, 2 Great grandchildren.  Former daughters-in-law: Doreen and DiAnne.  Many Nephews, nieces and friends including her best friend and roommate, Elizabeth (Lizzi) Rosenthall.  Preceded in death by her husband Charles R. “Chuck” Donahoo, parents, Sisters: Marilyn Erickson and Betty Donahoo.  Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Charles and Rose Donahoo and sister-in-law: Cheryl Aden.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Wyuka Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Nathan Donahoo, Christopher Donahoo, Zachary Donahoo, Scott Donahoo, Jr., Jesse Howard and Brandon Howard.  Honorary Pallbearers: Katie Donahoo, Krystal Donahoo, Mike Pleasant and Rick Robinson.
