LaVonnie M. Kinney

KinneyLaVonnie M. Kinney, age 82 of Lincoln, passed away May 9, 2014.  She was born May 3, 1932 in Lyons, Nebraska to Louis and Edith (Johnson) Poeschl.  Married Bobby D. Kinney on June 12, 1953 in Tekamah, Nebraska.  LaVonnie worked as a bank teller at Nebraska State Savings & Loan for 19 years, she also worked at Touch & Go for 18 years.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Donn Steinbach of Lincoln, Rita and David Mattson of Valrico, Florida.  Son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Shelly Kinney of Ralston, Nebraska.  Grandchildren and spouses, Lisa Hamilton of Fremont, Brian Mattson of Gibbsonton, Florida, Brett and Angelica Mattson of Fremont, Joe and Jody Steinbach of Lincoln, Andy and Vanessa Steinbach of Lincoln, Sarah Kinney of Columbus, Nebraska, Christopher and Jessica Kinney of Papillion, Katrina and John Watton of Papillion, Trevor and Onica Cudaback of Las Vegas and Jared Cudaback of Ralston.  Great grandchildren, Zach, Allie, Cameron, Kate, Gavin, Jack, Oakleigh and Isabella.  Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Ivan and Virginia Poeschl of Lincoln, Ronnie and Verion Poeschl of West Point, Nebraska.  Long time special friend, James “Tex” Carroll of Fremont.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband Bobby, her parents, brothers, Dennis Poeschl and Adrian Poeschl, sisters, Lavah Maciejewski and Vernell Poeschl.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 from Noon until 8:00 P.M. family will be present from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at SouthPointe Christian Church, 7010 Helen Witt Dr.  Lincoln.

Graveside services will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at Fremont Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, Nebraska.

Memorials may be left for Lincoln Children’s Zoo or The Friendship Home.

  3. Bonnie was a great person, visited her every time I went to Nebraska to see my dad. She always went out of her way to cook a meal and made sure every one had a great time. My condolences to the family, as she will be deeply missed. GOD BLESS.

  5. To Bonnie’s Family—My sincere sympathy in the loss of your mother. I have some very good memories of some great times Bonnie and I had. She will always be remembered and missed.

  6. My sincere condolences to all of Bonnies family. She was one of the “fun bunch” at the Lemon
    Tree Lounge.
    We had lots of good times playing darts and drinking red beer.
    God rest her soul.

  7. I worked with “Bonnie” for several years at Nebraska State Savings & Loan. She was always fun loving and full of energy. It’s sad to see the “Nebraska State Family” disappear and she was a part of that family. My sincere sympathy to the family.

  9. I worked with Bonnie at Nebraska State Savings & Loan in the 1960’s. She was someone you just felt good about being with her. She always seemed to be in a good mood. My sympathy to your family.
