Lloyd V. Taylor

Lloyd V. Taylor, age 80, of Lincoln died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at home following a long illness.  He was born to Harry and Minnie (Felton) Taylor on December 24, 1931 in Lincoln.  Lloyd married Marlene V. Dick on March 23, 1949.  They made their home in Lincoln.  Lloyd worked at Donley Medical Supply, he was also the founder of  Taylor Drain & Sewer.  Lloyd later worked at and retired from Lincoln Public Schools.  Lloyd enjoyed an active life of hunting and fishing.  He took great pride in the apperance of his home and yard.  Lloyd was well known for his love of food!

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marlene Taylor, son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Bea Taylor of Lincoln, three grand children: Julie Atkinson, Michelle Taylor and Matt Taylor all of Lincoln; four great grandchildren, Jordan and Garrett Atkinson, Alexa and Morgan Taylor all of Lincoln.  Sister-in-law: Shirley Taylor.  Many nieces and nephews, and faithful dog, “Rusty”.  Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Albert, Ralph and Leo, three sisters Mabel, Helen and Gladys.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home, Rosary services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home. Officiant: Fr. John Sullivan.  Visitation will be Monday beginning at 5:00 P.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Wyuka Cemetery.

Memorials may be left to the Capitol Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

    I am so sorry to hear of your great grandpa’s passing. I remember when we were kids, running through his perfectally clean house, and him always telling us to slow down! Hope you and Marlene are doing well, you are in my thoughts.
