Melinda Jane Dominguez, 69, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Norton, Kansas. She was born on September 11, 1956, in Falls City, Nebraska to Clifford Ray Sr. and Maudie Buerstetta.

Melinda had a gift for making those around her laugh and smile. She was a natural encourager with a big heart, and somehow always had a way of making things feel possible, even during difficult times. Her family will especially remember her beautiful smile, her laugh, and the warm “momma bear” hugs that made everything seem a little better. She never missed an opportunity to remind her children how deeply they were loved and reassure them that everything was going to be okay.

Melinda’s faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of Faith Apostolic Holiness Church, where she shared her love of the Bible as a teacher. Teaching came naturally to Melinda, both at church and in her career. She had a special love for working with children and took great pride in helping them learn, grow, and believe in themselves.

When she wasn’t teaching, Melinda enjoyed singing, being involved with her church, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She will be remembered for the light she brought into the lives of others, her ability to encourage those around her, and the love she gave so freely. Melinda had a way of making people feel cared for, supported, and hopeful, and that is a gift her family and friends will carry with them always.

Melinda is survived by her husband, Tony Dominguez; children, Melissa Pooler, Maria Dominguez, and Anthony Dominguez Jr.; sisters, Donna Jackson, Shirley Francis, Mary Kinney, and Margret Abbott; grandchildren, Victoria Rogers, Quynh Le, Brian Pooler, Vu Le, Jacob Pooler, Zachary Le, Melissa Tialynn Le, Rachael Pooler, and Anthony Daniel Dominguez III; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln.
