Phillip Andrew Matzen passed away Nov. 15, 2022, in Blair, NE. Born Nov. 2, 1934, to Lottie and Andy Matzen in a farmhouse near Blair. Philip was a farmer, teacher and then a welder. He married Myrna Frahm on June 3, 1954 in Blair.
Philip is survived by two sons, Steve (Jan) Matzen and Mark Matzen; three grandsons, Tim, Mike (Jess) and Joel; three great-grandchildren, Dominic, Zuri and Theo. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and five sisters.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Nov. 22, at First Lutheran Church, Blair. Viewing 1 hour prior to service. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Blair Rescue Squad. Condolences at Wyuka.com
Phil was an amazing neighbor, I will miss taking him meals with an hour long conversation & having him over for summer grill outs. He always brought his amazing homemade wine he made from his grape vines, along with the wine there was always a story about his lawn, fruit trees, fish, you name it he knew a lot!
