Richard A. Priefert, 74, of Eagle, died on May 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by loving family.

Visitation will take place from 9-11A.M. on Wednesday, May 5 at Wyuka Funeral Home with Graveside services and burial following at noon at Fairview Cemetery. A luncheon will take place immediately after the burial at The Isles Reception Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date.

Richard was born on March 18, 1947 to Kenneth Priefert and Louise Priefert (Dugger). Richard attended Fairbury Junior/Senior High School and also attended the University of Kearney. He had a natural talent for pool and played often in his younger years. He also loved playing Texas Hold’em and watching poker tournaments. Richard’s love for sports was conveyed through his time in high school playing basketball and his love of watching football, more specifically Husker football. Richard loved to read Louis L`Amour novels and had every book ever written by him. Richard also loved to watch old reruns of Perry Mason and Matlock.

Richard married Connie Lemmon in 1968 and had 4 children together; two boys and two girls. He started working in construction at a young age and later ended up in Fremont, Nebraska as a Coca Cola route man. Richard then moved to Kansas to manage a plant in Marysville. After a few years, Richard and his family moved back to Nebraska and he started working for Lincoln Coca Cola as a supervisor and then a semi- truck driver for a total of 35 years with the Coca Cola Company.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents.

Richard will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Richard is survived by wife, Connie; sons Jason Priefert of Omaha and Ryan Priefert (Angie) of Lincoln; daughters Lisa Hill (Nate) of Lincoln and Carrie Priefert (Broderick) both of Lincoln; grandchildren Andrew Priefert, Kaylie Hill, Briley Hill, and Chayse Hill; brothers Gerald Priefert (Barbara) of Omaha and James Priefert (Karin) of Omaha.

  2. Our Condolences to Connie and the family. So sorry to hear. I worked with Richard for many years at Coke.in Lincoln. Richard was just a great guy. Always a pleasure to talk and work with. One of the best. We will miss him.

  4. So sorry to hear about your loss. We are never ready to lose a loved one and it is difficult to go on without them but the memories live on. As a former classmate and friend I am sure there are many great memories.

  5. My condolences to the family of Richard or Dick as we called him. I played many years of baseball with him when we were young. He was always a very nice guy and a pretty good ball player. I was lucky to have known him.

  6. Seeing Dick’s high school photo brings a smile and warm memories come to mind. Among those memories are his gentle spirit and kindness.

  7. Connie, my heart aches for you and your family. I so sorry to hear that you lost Dick.
    I have nothing but awesome memories of the times I spent with you two.

  8. What a great guy! I use to work with Dick at Coca Cola when I attended UNL. Played softball with him in the summers on the Coke team.
