Russell L. Mowery age 79 of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on December 8, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.  He was born on June 2, 1942, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Glenn Mowery and Edith (Albertson) Mowery.  Russell was a cross country truck driver for many years, hauling cattle, John Deere, along with many other things.  He also was a volunteer fire fighter in Denton, Nebraska.

Russell is survived by his wife Janet (Martens) Mowery; daughters, Russchelle Nace and husband Randy, Kelly Mowery, Dusty Hegwood; sons, Jeremiah Mowery, Arthur Eugene; sisters, Mildred Phelps and husband David, Pearl Haskew-Jones and husband Bob, Rita Watterud and husband Dale, Philomena Favre; grandchildren, Leticia, Ashley, Allora, Trevor, Angel, Kolby, Brianna, Augustine, Orion, David, Aiyannah, Armando, Lάmar, Maximillian, Abriellah; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Ellie, and Isebella. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Glenn Mowery, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Wyuka Funeral Home in Lincoln.  A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM in Wyuka Cemetery. In Russell’s memory, memorial contributions can be made to the Southwest rural fire department in Lincoln.
