Sheri L. Schmidt

Schmidt, Sheri Cropped (2)Sheri L. Schmidt, age 53 of Lincoln, passed away July 31st.  She was born May 20, 1961 in Lincoln.  Sheri’s folks moved to Bennet, in 1971, Sheri graduated from Norris High School in Firth, NE in 1980.  She was married in 1987 and her children were born in 1988, 1990 and 1995.  Sheri was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, daughter and aunt who put her family first and did anything for her children, grandchildren and family.

Sheri is survived by her parents, Terry and Sandra Yonkey of Bennet, NE; Husband Gary Schmidt; Son Michael (Jenn) Schmidt of Unadilla, NE; Daughter Katherine (Michaela) Schmidt of Lincoln; Son John Schmidt of Lincoln; Grandchildren Brooklyn and Ryder; Siblings Duane (Liz) Yonkey; Kim (Kirk) Lehl; Andy Yonkey; Mother-in-law Carol Schmidt; Sisters-in-law Elaine Crooks and Deb Gropp; plus many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 5th at Wyuka Funeral Home.  No visitation, Sheri’s wishes were to be cremated.  Burial of ashes will be at Wyuka Cemetery.

Memorials may be left for the family.

    I know that I told you, that I LOVE you, many, many times, and I know that I told you I loved you, when I saw you last, but I wish I had one more time to tell you that I love you, and going to miss you, ever so much. I know that you are in a much better place.

  6. Although we lost touch over the years I still remember the wonderful times I spent with Sheri on the farm when we were young.

    I know at times like this it is hard to see past the sorrow, but I hope that reflecting on the wonderful memories that you and Sheri shared will help you to see light again. My deepest sympathies for your loss.
