Versie Ree Doyle, 66, of Spring Hill, KS, passed away October 2, 2023. She was born February 21, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to Rufus and Lucille Roundtree. Versie soon left Chicago to move to Omaha, NE, where her parents set out for a fresh start. She grew up to be a kind, loving, caring, and devoted mother. She was a strong woman who rubbed off good vibes to all she met. With Versie’s tough as nails strength, she raised 7 boys. While trying to help the community, she went to school and became a certified Dietary Aide. While helping all she could to the people she met, Versie took a special care to focusing on her grandchildren.
Versie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Lee Doyle Sr.; brother, Enoch Roundtree; sisters, Charlene Hoskins, and Pearlene Watkins-Branch. She is survived by sisters, Mary Thompson, and Luccille Roundtree; brothers, Don, Ezra, Tyrone, and Chester Roundtree; sons, Larry (Jackie) Phillips, Chester Lee (Corrine) Doyle, Curtis Lee (Latisha) Roundtree, Clarence Lee Doyle, Perry Jay Doyle, Kenneth LeRoy Scott, and LeRoy Kenneth Scott; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be donated to the family for future designation.
