Vincent Joseph Whitemagpie, age 71, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in his hometown of Lincoln. He was born on November 15, 1954, to Jacob and Irene Whitemagpie.

Vincent was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend whose greatest joy in life was his family. His unwavering dedication to those he loved was evident in everything he did. He had a gift for making people smile, and there was never a dull moment when Vincent was around. His infectious laugh, his beloved Mac, and his signature expression, “Oooooowweeeee,” will forever bring smiles to the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A proud man of his heritage, Vincent found joy in creating beautiful beadwork, drumming, and singing. These passions allowed him to express himself, honor tradition, and bring people together. Whether he was sharing stories, laughter, or music, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His warm spirit, generous heart, and wonderful sense of humor made him someone people naturally wanted to be around.

Above all else, Vincent’s family was the center of his world. He was a constant source of love, strength, encouragement, and laughter, leaving behind countless memories that will be treasured for generations.

Vincent is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Irene Whitemagpie; his children, Destiny Whitemagpie, Jeremiah Whitemagpie, Mariah Whitemagpie, Steven Whitemagpie, Nepuah Whitemagpie, Nikko Whitemagpie, and Jinnavisa McCarthy; his sisters, Geraldine Brewer and Darla Whitemagpie; his brothers, Jacob Whitemagpie, Lester Whitemagpie, and Lionel Whitemagpie; his beloved grandchildren, Treyvon McKinzie, Raesean Cratton, Koran Cratton, J’Quari Willis, Jaiah Willis, Janessa Willis, and Jahaii Willis; other cherished family members, Angela Whitemagpie, Drake Whitemagpie, Zannea Gibson, Tyler Gibson, Angel Whitemagpie, and Rachel Whitemagpie; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Vincent’s life during a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, Nebraska and immediate burial at Wyuka Cemetery.

Though Vincent’s presence will be deeply missed, his laughter, his songs, his craftsmanship, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
