Carmen M. Dexter

Carmen M. Dexter age 71 of Lincoln passed away March 18, 2023.  She was born January 9, 1952 in Omaha to Earl Everett and Carmen Fern (Bright) Fletcher.  Carmen was a chemistry teacher.  She loved to teach, read books, she loved people and the Beatles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles Dexter, daughters Amy Dexter of Lincoln and Carrie Burkhart of LaVista and her grandson Gavin.

A celebration of life, open house will be held on April 1, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 P.M. in the Stables at Wyuka Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to the family to plant a memorial tree in memory of Carmen.

    Accept my condolences. I taught with Carmen at the Beatrice High School. I remember Carmen as a very dedicated teacher, loving her job and her students. Always friendly and professional. It has been a pleasure to know Carmen

  2. We are very sorry about Carmen’s passing. When she was a teacher in Beatrice she was a favorite of our family especially our oldest son, Tony! She was great

  3. I taught with Carmen many years ago at Beatrice High School. I remember her as friendly, pleasant, and interested in students and staff. She was a good teacher and a good colleague. My sympathy to her family.

  4. Mrs. Dexter was my Chemistry teacher and she was always encouraging and helpful. She took extra time to help me understand Chemistry and she was also the student teacher for the Math and Science Club that I belonged to. She was an inspiration to not only me but many other students! She will be missed!

  5. Charles and daughters, I was so sorry to see Carmen’s notice in the paper. She was a lovely person. I absolutely enjoyed having known her. She had the best sense of humor. Please know you are in my thoughts.
