Grief Support Resources

Everyone reacts to the sudden news of death differently. There is no right way to grieve the loss of someone special. Losing a loved one, or hearing that the time might be soon, is a lot to handle emotionally.

It can be helpful during the grieving process to reach out to others. This can include connecting with friends, relatives, counselors, or even people going through similar situations. We’ve compiled a short list of forums and podcasts that provide advice, support, and more.

Grief Support Forums

Grief Healing:

This group offers many different forum topics specific to the type of grief one may be dealing with. Their site is accessible to anyone and uses a message board format. The site is designed to support individuals who are anticipating or coping with the loss of a loved one. This site can be used anonymously or through an account.

Founded in 1997, is one of the oldest grief support forums on the internet. It supports a quarter of a million people from over 100 countries in their grieving process. Their focus is to provide grief support through the community that is free from any judgment. They provide forums as well as circles, where members can connect on specific topics.

Hope Again is targeted towards a younger audience. It offers a safe place to communicate with other young people where you can learn how to cope and feel less alone. Their site showcases written blog posts as well as vlogs (videos) to help cope in different ways.

Grief Anonymous:

Grief Anonymous is a judgment-free zone that provides free group support programs to those affected by grief. They work towards directing and supporting people through self-healing and awareness towards their new normal. Their goal is to create a group welcoming of people from all walks of life.
