Janice A. “Jan” Lamphear

Janice A. “Jan” Lamphear, age 74 of Lincoln, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 25, 2012.  She was born November 29, 1937 in Seward County, Nebraska to Arvid and Oretta (Ehlers) Richters.  Janice was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Lamphear on March 27, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She loved spending time in the backyard bird watching especially the cardinals and woodpeckers.  Every spring Ken would get hanging plants and flowers that Janice could enjoy as she spent time outdoors.  She liked watching any Nebraska Cornhusker sport on television, including football, basketball and volleyball.

She is survived by her husband Ken of Lincoln; Daughters and Sons-in-law: Lori and Rudi Rosenfeld of Austin, Texas, Kerri and Ray Lazuk of Leadville, Colorado, Kristi Lamphear, Jodi and Jerry Gaines all of Lincoln.  Grandchildren and Spouses: Zach Bulling, Nate Bulling both of Lincoln.  Josh and Emmy Gaines of Denver, Colorado, Ethan Lazuk of Missoula, Montana, Andi and Brandon Kirk of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Abbey Lazuk of Fort Collins, Colorado, Nisi Gaines of Albuquerque, New Mexico, David and Lynnette Rosenfeld of Salem, Oregon.  Great grandchild: Jude Shepard Kirk.  Brother and Sister-in-law: Tex Richters and Judy Garlock of Lincoln.  Nieces and Nephews, special aunt: Viola Niemann.  Many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at Faith Bible Church,6201 S. 84th Street, Lincoln on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 1:00 P.M.  Private family interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.

No public visitation.  Private family visitation only.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar’s Home for Children or Any Hospice Care facility in Lincoln, in Janice’ name.

  9. I was a neighbor of Jan & Kenny many years ago when we lived next door to them on Cuming Street. So much time has passed by I have thought of them many times. I didn’t know until my son told me that he just reconnected with Jodi and actually work at the same place..who would have ever imagined that would happen..and that is when I learned of Jans passing, which was over a year ago. I am so sorry about the loss..she was a wonderful person and I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with her..
