Leoda Laverne (Reich) Webb

May 23, 1924 -October 14, 2020

Leoda, (better known as LEE or Gramma Lee) was  the 3rd child of George and Anna (Schiermann)was born in Havelock NE.  At age 6 the family moved to Lincoln.  She was confirmed at Ebenezer Congregational church at 8th & B. str.

She graduated from Teachers College High School where she was in the junior & senior award winning sextet.

During WWII she worked for the Havelock Shops.  Later at Elgin Watch Capital Co., shared ownership of Capital Plumbing,Heating & Hardware, and Central Gun.  LARC School, Pepsi Cola & The Villager Cafeteria.

In 1969 she moved, remarried and retired.  keeping busy with her home, gardening, canning & working on the Election Board for Miami and Globe AZ.  For Globe, she created money making projects & sang with her group at nursing homes and any gig they could get.  Talking on the C.B. Radio was exciting and a  great joy for her.

She was a member of the Miami AZ. Lady  Elks & a 50 yr. member of  Eastern Star. She was secretary/treasurer for the GOLD-N-OLDIES car club.  She was part owner of a ’54 Buick Roadmaster, traveling to many car shows around and near AZ.

She is survived by a daughter Charlotte A. Holmes (Jon), a son R.C. Schmaltz Jr. (Chuck) (Anda) and Ted Vosta (Lisa) of Lincoln, 7 grandchildren; TJ Schmaltz of Lincoln; Gina Campbell (Terry) of Calif., Dan Kuenning (Michele) of FL.,Danette Olson and Partner Mike Herrington of Omaha. Delonie Tankesley (Bryan), Lanita Pierce, Kealey Snyder (Joel) all of Lincoln. Also surviving are 7 Great Grand sons, 4 Great grand daughters and her first Great,Great,Granddaughter Ensley Campbell.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, brother Howard, sister Delores, 1st  Husband R.C. Schmaltz, Grandsons Creig Schmaltz and Remmington Holmes.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Wyuka Funeral Home.  Interment to follow the service at Wyuka Cemetery.  A reception will be held in the “Garden Room” at Wyuka Funeral Home following the interment.

In honor of Leoda the family requests casual attire.
