Peter Junior Kolb

March 1, 1935 – January 28, 2024

Peter Junior Kolb, born March 1, 1935 went to be with his Lord on January 28, 2024. Peter was born in Lincoln Nebraska to Peter Kolb Jr. and Caroline (Johns) Kolb. He was Baptized (1935) and Confirmed (1949) at St. John’s German Congregational Church. He was active in church life, continuing as an adult in what is now Faith United Church of Christ. He spent his final 12 years as a dedicated part of Indian Hills Community Church.

Pete attended Hayward Elementary, Whittier Jr. High and University High Schools. He went on to earn a two-year Accounting degree at the Lincoln School of Commerce. During this time, he met and married Ruth L. Weseloh on May 16, 1953. He began his work career at Burlington Truck Lines and on Jan 2, 1954 moved to Gooch Foods Inc. as a Typing Clerk then rose through the company in various capacities including Production Manager, Personnel Director and finally Plant Manager. In 1983 Gooch was purchased by ADM and he was promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing, Operations, Production and Engineering for all of ADM’s Pasta plants. He retired in 1999.

Pete describes the most important part of his life as his spiritual journey. He gave his life to Jesus Christ as a teenager at a Christian Youth Meeting. Then recommitted himself to that relationship in 1999, and became a true student of the Bible and a living testimony.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, his daughter Veronica, grandson Christopher and other brothers and sisters. He is survived by sisters Flora Walters and Margaret Allis; son Peter (Christine), daughters Victoria Donlan and Cynthia (Larry) Watchorn, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2:00 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home, Viewing will take place 1 hour prior to service. Rev. Peter Kolb and Pastor Gregg Thomas will Officiate. Refreshments will follow the service. Private interment.   2. Pete was truly ‘a man after God’s own heart’. I will miss being able to talk with my friend but I know that he is enjoying the presence of His Lord and a Savior Jesus Christ.
