Virginia Lou Thompson age 66 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Lincoln.  She was born on May 2, 1946 in Alliance, Nebraska to Claude and Betty Lou (Rutledge) O’Brien. She retired from the State of Nebraska Department of Insurance where she had worked for 15 years.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Robert of Lincoln; her sons, Andrew Brueggeman of Denver, CO; James and Melissa Thompson of Vinton, IA; Brien Thompson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jared, Keegan and Faith Thompson; sister, Joanne and Gary Johnson of Alliance, NE; brothers, John Michael and Sherry O’Brien of Lincoln, NE; Jim and Cheryl O’Brien of Mullen, NE.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation, no visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

Private family interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
